I am Jukka Hietalahti, a 37-year-old doctor. I have been working as a physician full-time since 2012. In 2014, I completed my medical degree studies (Licenciate of Medicine) and obtained the rights of a licensed physician.

I have work experience in health centers, hospitals, and as a private practitioner. For the past few years, I have done the phase of internal medicine related to my specialisation in infectious diseases at Helsinki University Hospital.

I’ve also worked as a consulting physician at Hivpoint since 2018. The arrival of PrEP in Finland has been something that I have observed during that time. I have helped produce PrEP-related materials at Hivpoint. Also, I have given lectures about PrEP, e.g., at the yearly symposium for Finnish general practitioners in 2019.

In 2023 I completed sexual counselling studies at Lapin kesäyliopisto.
